The way to big companies' hearts and minds is through their corporate bank account. If the big cheeses see the bottom line value in improving customer service , then they'll make it a priority. Of course some do it naturally and are leaders (think Nordstroms, Zappos, Lexus, Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton). But others need to be reminded that improving customer service leads to increased customer loyalty.

Thanks for the interesting article and the tips.

As you wrote: "There is no reason these big companies can’t do better with their service. There are many large companies that deliver amazing service to their customers every day. They do so because the people at those companies care about serving their customers well."

Although there are benefits to investing in customer service and you have highlighted the ways in which companies can achieve better customer service, how easy do you think that it will be to convince big companies (who are doing well despite lack of focus on customer service) to put time and effort into this?
